Copperlan has kidnapped my harware controllers!.

Hey all.
Basically the problem started when I thought controlling reason 6 with my ipad was a good idea.
I run retouch reasonduo on the ipad, retouch recommended copperlan.
It works great . After 2 months of trying.
Except I can not get my Novation launchpad/automap and maudio trigger finger working at all.
The trigger finger runs a midi cable into the back of my native instrument Audio Kontrol1 midi port(usb port is broken on this unit).
Reason will not give me access to these devices because the port is in use by another application.
Which I thought was strange after using them for the last 3 years.

My 61 key keyboard controller and BCR2000 work over usb fine.

Do i have to assign audio kontrol and automap ports in copperlan?.
Or do i have limit copperlan access to certain midi channels so windows 7 can do its thing?.

I do I have not the slightest grasp on how this whole copperlan concept works at all!.

Thanks
James

Hi James,

Windows doesn't allow more than one app/peripheral to take control of a given MIDI port.
It is likely that CopperLan is configured to take control of anything MIDI by default.
To disable that feature, in the CPManager, go to Edit tab > MIDI on [your computer name] > MIDI settings > MIDI port auto-handling > Off.

Thanks it's all fixed.
I turned that mode off and started a new connection in copperlan .

Interestingly I modified all this inside reasons controller preferences ,
With the iPad on wifi via reouch control app and copperlan .
And all my controllers both USB / midi and virtual together.
Creating a new connection in copperlans manager did not disconnect the iPad via retouch .

Very impressive program guys .

That and the beta tester in me wanted to see if I could break something while it was all connected .
:)
I doubt windows xp would be as forgiving as windows 7 .
