Connection between Protools(mac) & Fruity Loops(Win7)

Connection between Protools(mac) & Fruity Loops(Win7)

Postby aaguigou_crf » 10 Feb 2014, 20:25

I need help with this.
I can't make them "talk to each other". In need ProTools(Mac) as Master and Fruity loops(win7) as slave.
Both are connected by cable, router. They can see each other, they're connected.
What I need is points of sync, start time, end time, all this in the timeline. Play & stop, with that working I'll be really happy. :)

I'm a sound designer trying to make this work, I really need ur help.

Thank you.

Hi,

First of all I would like to clarify if you have an issue with CopperLan. When you say that ProTools and FL are connected, I guess that you mean that you created a virtual MIDI cable between virtual MIDI ports located on each machine and configured both software to use these VMIDI ports right? So you can send MIDI notes from ProTools and receive them in FL, is it right?

Dear Phil,

Yes, that's right, vmidi cables work. CopperLan rules! ;)
What I need is the timeline position, so, if I have a video running on FL or plugings inside FL(as we know) my primary session needs to be in protools. If I do all this things in my mac without this alternative pc, she overloads(mac)
This is just help with that, like I said, CopperLan rules! Is awesome :)
I really need this working :|

Andrés.

What about a lot of markers? Set by midi. Sync points. Am I right?

Ha ok, so you need help to configure ProTools in order to remote control FL.

Well... I'm afraid I'm not familiar with ProTools so can't provide any assistance on that one.

Maybe could you focus on ProTools forums or website to get this information. We had very good contacts with ProTools Experts guys during last Musikmesse, it's probably a good place to start: http://www.pro-tools-expert.com
