Virtual MIDI Drivers: Sysex support?

Virtual MIDI Drivers: Sysex support?

Postby ramelan » 08 Jul 2012, 23:39

Hello,

I am using CopperLan as a virtual midi driver between two apps on my computer. Most MIDI messages seem to work ok, except for Sysex messages. The virtual MIDI cable does not seem to transmit them somehow. Was wondering if this is a configuration issue (on my part) or Sysex messages are not supported.

Thanks

Hi,

CopperLan is designed to transmit Sysex messages between two MIDI endpoints... If you are using the Virtual MIDI Cable feature, the needed connection is done automatically. If you are patching MIDI on a channel basis, you must connect a MIDI-to-CopperLan "Sys" output to a CopperLan-to-MIDI "Sys|Clock" input.

If it is still not working, could you give us more information about your configuration? What is the operating system, what are the two apps that you are connecting together?

Can you also check using Midi-OX as a target application (taking care to enable "MIDI Sysex messages in monitors")?

Thanks a lot for the reply. I re-installed CopperLan and now it seems to work!
