Virus warning and crap app

Postby AndreD » 09 Feb 2014, 13:46

Hi,
I just tried to get a copperlan connection from my Windows pc to my crap
but the crap App just tells me: "no copperlan".

In Addition, Avira wants to remove the Driver from my pc because of it´s a virus..

Any ideas??

Best,
Andre

Hi Andre,

iOS CopperLan software relies on a CopperLan engine running on a computer located on the same network. The iOS application is using IP based communication to talk with this engine, so it can be rejected by an antivirus or any IP shield. You can see if Avira is in cause by disabling it temporarily and check if the iOS application is able to get connected to CopperLan.

Could you please post here the complete message provided by Avira about this virus notification? thanks!

/Phil

Ha ok, AVG is considering the driver installer as a virus

Well, this software is not signed. This is probably the cause of this alert. Nevertheless it's the first time such issue is reported.

I push an action in our to-do list in order to sign the driverinstaller for the next release.

There is no problem if it is removed by the antivirus after the installation. But this program is necessary during the installation process to check if the drivers are up-to-date and install/upgrade them if needed.
