Yosemite MAC issues - UPDATE!

Yosemite MAC issues - UPDATE!

Postby Copperhead » 10 Nov 2014, 11:05

We've got some user feedback regarding problems with Yosemite upgrade.
The typical issue is that the CopperLan network is still OK but MIDI handling and other settings become dysfunctional.

After some research, we've found that the problem is due to (non-CopperLan) drivers that are incompatible with Yosemite. One example of such driver is Avid's Coreaudio, which is locking the MIDI services, part of MacOS.
There might some other faulty drivers that we don't know about.
The solution is to de-install the faulty drivers, and/or upgrade them with adequate versions.

The current version of CopperLan is compatible with Yosemite.

I have the situation that MIDI is not working with CopperLan. Only DAW internal (e.g. VMidi1 to VMidi4). But no Midi is coming in or going out from/to AL-88c!
(MAC OS X 10.10.3 / 2x AL-88c / Logic Pro X 10.1.1)

CopperLan Manager (tried 1.3(3) and 1.4(1) is newly installed on a existing system with possibly older drivers for audio equipment which I don't use (and have) anymore. So the chance that there is an incompatible driver for Yosemite is quite big.

But is there a way to find out which one possibly causes the problem? Other hints or workarounds?

Thanks

After a complete new installation of OS X (with new formatted drive), everything works as expected!!
:D :D :D .
nnnniiiiccccceeeee.

Mac OS X 10.10.3
CopperLanManager 1.4 (1)
2x AL-88c
Logic Pro X 10.1.1

It was definitely an old driver or at least something legacy which prevented CopperLan to work.

Thanks

Goo news! Thanks for the feedback! ;)

We are working on the next version of CopperLan, and it will include a tool designed to facilitate issue tracking and resolution. More to come...
