XP on Paralells in OS X 10.6.8 Virtual Enet?

XP on Paralells in OS X 10.6.8 Virtual Enet?

Postby stublito » 05 Mar 2016, 22:49

I have Sounddiver running on XP in Paralells, I need to connect Sounddiver to the OS X host machine's Audio MIDI setup, but with 8 channels (for all my synths), the Network rtp thing doesn't separate MIDI channels.

I don't see a "virtual" ethernet adapter as a network choice. Any ideas?

You mean that you are not able to select the network adapter from the CopperLan Manager's settings running on the Parallel virtual XP machine, right?

We made some testing with Parallel, but it was a long time ago (around 2010), and it was working fine and I don't remember any issue related to the network interface selection...

If you see some Ethernet adapter from the Parallel virtual machine, just try to select the same that you are using under OSX.

Hi Stublito,
bear in mind that CopperLAN starts counting ethernet connections by "0", MacOS and Paralells by "1". If you have connected your devices on MacOS ethernet port 1, you have to choose ethernet port 0 in CopperLANs Mac setup, and ethernet 1 in Parallels.
I installed the "Intel(R) 82574L Gigabit Network Connection" driver on my XP - at least for me, the connection are more stable than the original Paralells driver.

In fact, running SoundDiver on XP/Paralells Desktop was the main reason for me to install CopperLAN. Runs quite smooth besides LogicPro 10.2.4
I hope that helps,
